Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Wheeling, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Illinois run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 amβ9 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. What a hidden gem! My husband and I just stumbled upon this restaurant on Google maps and it was such a delightful surprise. It was some of the best food we had in a long time. There is nothing fancy about the atmosphere (which only adds character to the experience), but you could tell that all the love and energy goes into the food. My husband and I asked for Malaysian specialties and enjoyed everything we had, we ordered an appetizer, two entrees and a dessert and had plenty of leftovers. Highly highly recommend.

I wanted to give a proper review. Donβt believe some of the low rated reviews. If you look at their profiles, they give every place a bad review. To clear things up about their dining area, they have 2 small tables outside and 1 small and 2 big tables inside. Small tables - 2 chairs. Big tables - 4 chairs. On weekdays, you donβt need to make a reservation. On the weekends due to their limited dine in area, I would recommend a reservation to be safe. You can make a reservation through Google/Yelp or phone call. Parking is easy since itβs in a strip mall. There is also a 3% charge if you use plastic. Just a note, I tried looking at their food pictures on their website, but it kind of runs slow. Sometimes it would freeze. I think they need to fix it. I would return here to try other items. I would highly recommend ordering off their Malaysian menu instead of the miscellaneous. Donβt order orange chicken or General Taoβs chicken. Very cringe because you can get that literally anywhere. Get the Malaysian food because itβs hard to find in Illinois. The owner is very sweet and the service is attentive. We ordered lor bak, nasi lemak, Hainanese chicken rice, hokkien mee, and kuih talam. J

This was my first experience with Malaysian food, and it was such a treat. The owner was incredibly nice and welcoming, and helped us make sure we ordered the best food. In particular, the nasi lemak was exceptionally delicious. I also love pandan/coconut, and the sticky rice dessert was perfect.

This is definitely a hidden gem. The owner is very welcoming and always there to give you great recommendations. I have had some Malaysian food before but not as authentic as this one. The food here gives you a warmth and gives you a mom and pop family restaurant vibe. We ordered the signature curry chicken rice, chicken skewer( very tender), a noodle soup made with fish( it is sour and fish is boiled to minced, I love this flavor and never had something like this before), layered cake( it is served hot and tastes very good). Highly recommend this place!!! But be mindful that they have limited space, only two tables indoor and two tables outdoor.
